In Recognition of long Service

Being a Cadet Forces Adult Volunteer can be a huge commitment, and a huge reward

Being a Cadet Forces Adult Volunteer can be a huge commitment, and a huge reward, but the most rewarding (and challenging) role within the RAF Air Cadets has got to be that of a Squadron Commander.

Warrant Officer Matthew Dando has been awarded his first Clasp for his Cadet Forces Medal, recognising the 18 years he has volunteered with the RAF Air Cadets.

Having joined 312 (City of Canterbury) Squadron in 1997 as a Civilian Instructor; Matthew entered into uniformed service in 2000 and became a Warrant Officer, responsible for drill and discipline at 312. In 2011 Matt transferred to 2235 (Deal) Squadron where he eventually took over command. After a short break for work commitments Matt took over as the Officer in Charge at 354 (Dover) Squadron.
