Cadets from 359 (Bexleyheath) Squadron spent the day in Bexleyheath town centre today. They were raising funds for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.  This special fundraising push was in commemoration of the evacuation on Dunkirk, 75 years ago. Cadets used rowing machines to row 161 km, the equivalent distance to the Y route from Dunkirk to Dover.

Flight Sergeant Chris Flynn was the fastest individual rower with his best 1 km time at 3 minutes 44 seconds. The best individual endurance was from Corporal James Tunnicliffe who went just over 25 km in 2 hours 14 minutes.

Thank you to the Media Centre at RAF High Wycombe for providing us with printed photos and a pin board to pin point our progression of the route through out the day. Also a huge thank you to 71st City of London Yeomanry Signal Regiment who kindly provided us with rowing machines for the day.
